Having worked for two years in consultancy after completing his full time studies, Alastair worked in Public Sector tourism for three years before joining Trusthouse Forte as marketing manager of their overseas hotels. He subsequently joined Holiday Inns as marketing planning manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa.
He returned to consultancy in 1987, founding Marketing Planning Associates. The primary focus of his work has remained business development, marketing and associated fields spanning many aspects of tourism, hotels, heritage and attractions.
Alastair Stevenson has carried out consultancy projects in many countries throughout the world from the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific to the Outer Hebrides, though most assignments are now in the UK and Ireland.

Following a long and successful career in Marketing and Sales in the hotel and leisure industry, including Board level appointments with Forte plc (Marketing Director, Hotels) and Whitbread plc, (Marketing and Sales Director, Whitbread Hotel & Leisure). Frank started his consultancy career in 1993. He has been a senior member of the MPA team since 1995.
Frank’s particular strengths are in research, statistical analysis, performance modeling and in developing business and marketing plans. Coming from a corporate background, he is strongly focused on analysis leading to strategy and action plans designed to deliver results.
Frank has undertaken consulting projects with Tourist Boards, Hotels, Hotel Companies, Attractions, Consortia, Local Authorities and other public sector organisations.
In addition, we work alongside teams with their own specialism, including property companies, generalist management consultancies and accountancy practices.
